Famous eateries and eatables in Mumbai


 Today we visit some of the famous eateries and eatables in Mumbai. We start with the Mumbai burger;

1. Vada Pav- it is a snack for some and some have it as lunch. Most liked by a red dry masala (Ghati Masala ) as it is called. Green chilly fried and sprinkled with salt and some greenchilly-coriander chutney. Cheapest and Best. Available at all leading stalls in every corner of Mumbai.


2.  Pani Puri – also called Gol Gappa in some states of India. Liked by everyone, you can have it with cold or normal pani. The pani is of 2 types: sweet- mixture of dates and jiggery and salt mixed with water; and spicy- mixture of  green chillies and coriander with some salt. A very famous Pani-Puri stall is at the ELCO MARKET @ Bandra. Even celebrities like Dia Mirza visit the stall here.

    


3. Bade Miyan, Colaba- This place is famous for its non-veg kebabs and rolls. People having crave on non-veg food have had visited this place atleast once.

4.      Khau Galli at Kalbadevi – this one is famous for its roasted papads, nimbu pani and other fast foods available at every corner here.

5.       Khau Galli, Churchgate (near Fashion Street) – here you will get almost every food item to eat, ranging from vada pavs to pizzas  and soda to falooda.

6.       Sardar Pav Bhaji, Tardeo (near Mumbai Central railway Station) – the pav bhaji here is spicy and full of extra butter. People from every corner of the city come here, especially to have the famous Pav Bhaji.

7.       Sukh Sagar, Girgaum (near Girgaum Chowpatty) – The Sukh Sagar sandwiches, juices, dosas and Pav Bhaji are all famous for people who come to Chowpatty. Reasonably charges, it is a favorite of almost every South Mumbai resident.

8.       Paan – the Sharma’s Paan are famous around Mumbai. They are available at Girgaum Chowpatty. Other things at the Girgaum Chowpatty are Kulfi’s, cold pani puri and Gola’s.

9.       Ice Gola- These Gola’s are made of crushed ice with different colours and flavours on it. You may get it almost everywhere on the roads in Mumbai, especially during summers, and if you want a good quality Gola, then you may visit Chowpatty.

10.       Mucchad Pan Wala, Breach Candy – Mucchad pan wala is a famous name in South Mumbai and also in other parts of Mumbai. His paan will cost you around Rs.50 or above. He has a dedicated Paan website, and people also order his Pan online.

11.   Mohammed Ali Road, South Mumbai – this place is famous for its non-veg delicacies during Ramzan time, a holy month of Muslims when they fast for 30 days. The delicacies range from non-veg kebabs to soups, and sweets from Maalpua to Firni. Many famous celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have visited the place in the past. You also find a Bade Miya branch here, which opens up only during Ramzan time.









12.   Shalimar, Mohammed Ali Road – this place is famous for its special faloodas. Falooda is a mixture of milk sherbet and Icecream with toppings of dryfruit. The place is also famous for chicken chilly servings.


13.   Shri Krishna, Dadar(West) – the place is nearby station and is famous for its tasty samosas and vada pav. 


14.   Jumbo vada pav – These are Indian burgers, potato vadas with burger breads. This was an innovative business by IIM alumni.


15.   Haji Ali Juice Center – This juice center situated at the entrance of Haji Ali Dargah at Worli finds many takers, especially during late nights when almost all other eateries are shut down. The Juices, though highly charged, are rich in taste and quality.

       16. Malwani, Malad (West) – This place has many restaurants which you can visit if you want to 
             have some coastal and sea-food. The food quality is excellent and price charged is average and 
              in-your-pocket.
